Bed leveling is a tricky process, especially for a large heated bed and inexperienced users. To make bed leveling easier, we added an auto-leveling function. An induction sensor can probe the bed in a grid and apply mesh-based compensation that ensures you print on a level bed every time, all without the user having to go through complicated process.

Equipped with a filament runout sensor, those who are looking to print a large object can now print without fear. This will prevent unfinished prints and “air printing”. Once it realizes that the filament has run out, the touchscreen will notify you to load a new filament and allow you to resume printing immediately.

With Snapmaker 2.0, you can print objects with deep overhangs and get a more smooth finished surface! Cooling is just as important as heating when it comes to FDM 3D printing. For the Snapmaker 2.0, the cooling system is re-designed to cool the print in the most efficient way.

So far so good

The biggest issue that I have had so far was the delivery time. it took FOREVER! I know that it was not entirely the fault of Snapmaker, I ordered my machine in January, and finally received it in December. Yes, I know that the pandemic threw a huge wrench into things, but it still,, from when they finally said they were shipping my order, and told me how ling it should take, It still took over a month longer, and there was NO communication, tracking numbers etc. They said they would let me know, and I was expecting something, so I could make sure I was home to receive it, but seeing as no one told me when to expect it, and it was a month late, I was not home, so my large box with the name on it was left on my front step...... fortunately, my wife got home shortly after it arrived and managed to drag it into the house.
Now, onto the machine itself.
I have been using it for several weeks now, and I know pretty much nothing about 3d printing, or any of this before getting into it. Oh, and thus far, I have only 3d printed because it is cold out here and I have no where with enough ventilation to use the others yet.
Opening the box and setting up the machine was pretty simple. Well packaged. The box itself had a few marks/dents on it, but everything is packaged well enough that it did not effect anything inside. Everything is layed out and well marked, makes finding the parts easy, The biggest complaint that I have is that the machine is high quality, but the tool kit that comes with... not so much.... If it was me, and I wanted to make a really good first impression, I would make the tools that you need to assemble the machine better than dollar store quality. The screw driver is something that you would get with a kids easy bake oven, or maybe the kids tool kit you get from home depot to give to your niece or nephew so they can pretend to help you fix your lawn mower. I fortunately have tools, so I used my own. There are a lot of screw to put in. Come on snap maker, give us REAL tools. This little oversight defiantly cheapens the whole assembly and frst bonding experience with the machine.
Hooking it up to the computer is a snap. Just had to download the program and turn on the machine and you are good to go. The on-line videos from snapmaker are kinda like the other tools. They are there more for show than for function. they very briefly explain how to transfer files, and sort of how to get your print going. At least enough to be able to print the demo vase that comes pre loaded. Be prepared to do a bunch of searching and google research into how to find files and modify them and format them to work on the snapmaker. It is not overly difficult, but there is a bit of a learning curve and I am sure would be frustrating if you have little to no experience like me. (tip, make sure everything is saved an an STL file)
Once you figure all that out, it is pretty cool. I have so far printed a bunch of stuff, and gone through about 1/2 my roll of filament that comes with. It does go farther than I had originally thought, but you need to be super patient. there is nothing about this prossess that is fast. Most of the prints that I have done so far have been small, and usually take like 8-10 hours, on normal print. The overall print quality is good in my opinion, but I dnt really have anything to compare to other than my son bought a part for his motorcycle that was 3d printed in their factory, and it looked surprisingly similar to what I have done. As I figure out the settings, I am sure i will get better at it.
Which leads me to the next thing that I think could use some improvement. The settings. the instructions say, to just use the PLA setting, but ther eis little information that I could find in the snapmaker instructions that actually explains how, why and when to adjust the settings. Another thing I learned on google, which I guess is half the fun.
So bottom line, Once you are all set up, and have done some research on 3d printing, it is a fun machine. I cant wait till it warms up enough in my garage to use the CNC and laser functions, without getting yelled at for filling my house full of smoke or sawdust!

More fun than I expected!

I am a first time 3D printer and in the 18 month delay waiting for my A250 to arrive I read many horror stories of people having major problems getting their printer to work correctly. Well mine has worked well right from the start and I have printed several useful products with it. Most things work out well, but I know that there is a lot of expertise required to get the most out of any tool of this complexity and power. So now I spend my days waiting for jobs to finish because I keep trying new things and keep trying new techniques and materials. The biggest problem I had was prints not sticking to the bed or not releasing. I ended up buying extra build plates because I wrecked my original one. But now that I use the glue stick and plastic razor blade tricks I have no problems. I also learned how to fine tune the bed level. I built a dry box for my mounted filament spools to avoid the moisture absorption problems, and put the printer in an enclosure, which keeps the noise down and print environment stable.

Within the first 10 day window..

So far so good. Assembly of the Snapmaker wasn't too difficult and after leveling I started printing right away. The Enclosure arrived a few days later and took a bit of time to assemble. I've had the Snapmaker A350 for 9 days and hit has been printing non-stop. I haven't experimented with the laser or CNC at this time so no review can be provided for those. Some development needs to be invested into the Luban software for Snapmaker. I've attempted to print several STL files and they have come out very rigid instead of circular as designed. Other slicer programs don't have this issue. Another thing that should be improved is the printing area to make the swapping of the other CNC and laser platforms more plug and play like the module. Maybe making them magnetic and snap into place.

Love the Product so far

It has been almost a month and our Snapmaker has practically never stopped working. We love the print quality and ease of use. I wish there were some more advanced setup and configuration capabilities based on the type of filament in Luban but there are other tools that can do that. About to begin a set of laser engraving tasks and a little trial and error will be necessary.
